The U18 Malaysian National Women's team finished their campaign in Surat Thani yesterday, winning their final match against India 63-40, securing their level I berth for the next edition of the FIBA Asia U18 tournament.

Our girls had a good showing at Thailand, and although they were up against top-caliber teams like China, Japan and Korea, they played with much spunk and heart, garnering the respect of their opponents as well as the spectators.

The U18 Malaysian Women's team are now in Surat Thani, Thailand for the 20th FIBA Asia U18 Championship for Women. Playing in level I after winning the qualifier during the previous championship, our girls will be up against the likes of China, Japan and Korea.

即将在马六甲开打的第13届马来西亚运动会篮球赛项，经于日前完成抽签分组。卫冕队砂拉越男队和联邦直辖区女队，抽得中上签，寻求连霸机会乐观。

相对来说，东道主马六甲男队则抽得上上签。在动用主办单位的选组权力下，在最后选进B组，与4年前的银牌得主联邦直辖区、传统实力偏弱的森美兰和吉兰丹队同组，出线呼声大作。

本届马运会篮球赛项订6月10日开打。共有11支男队及8支女队派队参赛。其中，砂拉越女队得以进跟，免除了女篮赛项在少于8队而可能面对流产的局面。

砂男的A组对手是4年前的第4名球队雪兰莪与霹雳。雪、霹、砂皆乃传统强队，然而，按
